The Swedish company Lamera is a spin-off from Volvo and has its roots in the collaboration between Chalmers University of Technology and Volvo Technology Transfer. Lamera’s most important customers today are manufacturers of aircraft, military applications, as well as extreme consumer products.
With a special patented sandwich-technology, Lamera is developing, producing a light, thin and strong material in metal, under the name of Hybrix. This material offers a composition of different alloys for the best combination of stiffness and formability. One of the face plates of Hybrix Flexible is made of high-strength stainless steel and is more durable than the opposite face plate, which is made of standard stainless steel that is more elastic.
